Chapter 3 of 11
Your Dashboard Lights
Your machine is always talking to you. Your job is just to notice — and then help.
Big machines — rocket ships, race cars, submarines — all have a dashboard. Little lights that blink on to say, “Hey! I need something!”
You have a dashboard too. But your lights aren’t on a screen — they’re feelings in your body. That’s how your machine talks to you.
A yawn and heavy eyes? That’s your recharge light. A rumbly, grumbly tummy? That’s your fuel light. A dry, sticky mouth? That’s your water light. Feeling grimy, itchy, or sticky? That’s your wash light. Feeling wiggly and full of zoom? That’s your let-me-move light.
Your machine is always talking to you. Your job is just to notice — and then help. That’s not a rule somebody made up. That’s you and your machine being a team.
🧠 Try It! — Dashboard check. Stop and go quiet for a second. Ask, “What is my machine telling me right now?” Are you thirsty? Tired? Wiggly? Hungry? Whatever light is blinking — you just did the most important job there is. You listened.
Do a dashboard check
Go quiet for a second, then press the light that is blinking.
